Jan - I think about you and others in this situation every day. You can't listen to the TV or radio without being constantly reminded about how dire things are right now. I'm so sorry that you've got yet another thing to worry about. I hope your husband's job will be okay. I know it's next to impossible but try not to worry about it until you know more. I'll continue to think good thoughts for you and hope things turn around soon.

 I hope the meeting isn't what you think it's about, that would be terrible if your DH was losing his job as well.  I'll be thinking good thoughts for you, and hoping that everything works out.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.   The daily news reminds us of the job losses that many are facing, I pray each day that the economy will turn around soon and those families that are struggling will not have to wait long.

You *will* land on your feet -- you're both good at what you do.  Things are SO awful right now, but sometimes these horrible things can simply be steps to something better.  You'll get thru it -- don't freak out, just think positive.  "it's a step to something better".  If the meeting is what he thinks -- maybe this is just a way of getting both of you in a position to do something new and different.

Janice, I didn't see previously that you'd lost your job.  I am so very sorry to learn that.  I know it is very scary right now with your hubby's job also threatened, but try not to borrow trouble before you know for sure.  Hugs and good thoughts from me.

Thanks so much everyone. I think it's working. His meeting was about 45 minutes ago, and he hasn't called me. So I'm hoping no news is good news.

Thank you thank you thank you, everyone. So far DH is safe. They're closing a plant in Kansas City and consolidating two in Milwaukee. You probably heard about it on the news. (DH works for Harley-Davidson.)

I know what you guys are going through, and I can tell you, as stressful as it is, there is often a light at the end of the tunnel.  I worked for 5 years for the same company as my BF.  I was laid off at the end of October, and it was devastating to me.  Towards the end of November we got some exciting news...the principals decided to sell the division of their company down here where we are, which BF had ran for 5 years, and they offered to sell it to BF!  We closed on the sale on January 5th.  Soooo crazy how things work out.  I went from being an administrative assistant...to unemployed....to Vice President!  So you just never know what kinds of opportunities may come out of a bad situation.  Keep your chin up, and we will keep all fingers and paws crossed here for you.
