Warm thoughts for my Iggy, please (Pofi_P)

A few weeks ago, one of my Kitty Boyz, Iggy, became suddenly and clearly ill.  Blood chemistries revealed nothing except that his organs and systems are actually functioning well, particularly for an older cat.  After further diagnostic efforts, we found he has a mass in the mesentary and it is not considered operable.  We are pursuing a course of palliative meds to stimulate appetite and control any pain.  He is still my sunny, sweet dispositioned, snuggle cat at the moment, though not very active, of course.

Think warm thoughts, if you can, that he feels happy and pampered and loved a while longer and that I have the grace and courage to listen to him and let him go when he is ready.  He's a lovely, easy and gentle cat and he's only been ours for seven years - I had hoped he might still enjoy some warm spring days sunning in the windows of our house, but Minnesota weather seems not to want to cooperate.

Here's my favorite picture of my plush, handsome boy.

Lisa Marie, I'm so sorry to hear of sweet Iggy's diagnosis.  I'm sending huge bundles of strong vibes to both of you.  He's absolutely stunning - I don't know what color is more beautiful -- the silver grey of his fur or the green of his eyes!  I'll keep my fingers crossed that the sun begins to shine soon so Iggy can feel its warmth.  I know that would mean a lot to both of you.  I still feel sad that my Tonka's final weeks were in the worst of winter -- too rainy and cold to be outside any longer than just regular walks (which he hadn't much energy for anyway).  I would've loved for him to have enjoyed stretching out on the grass in his favorite sunny spots a few more times before he left us.

Keeping you in my thoughts at this bittersweet time, wishing you peace and strength as you continue to shower Iggy with devoted care and affection. ((hugs))

I'll keep Iggy in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he has many more happy days with you and some sunny days for napping by the window.

Iggy is so beautiful.  I had a cat that looked alot like Iggy and he was such a sweetheart.  You and your little baby are in my thoughts and prayers.

I heard crows this morning and the robins are back - hang on Iggy - you may get that sunny window yet!  Best wishes for a calm, easy, and serene Spring for Iggy and an easy journey when the time comes...

Signs of Spring are strong here, Lisa Marie.  Da boyz & I are sending thoughts for some nice, sunny days for Iggy.   ((HUGS)) for you & DH.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear this news.  I will hope for at least one warm sunny day for Iggy this spring.  I know it's hard to do and harder to see our beloved animals get so ill.  I watched my Niko deteriorate quickly so I think you'll know.

Thank you all for your kind and loving thoughts.  In the end, I did know, and it was earlier than I would have liked, but we let Iggy go yesterday.  He is now free from pain and "at the bridge".  I've posted about him in the Raibow Bridge section.
