    Good thoughts needed- Update2

Good thoughts, prayers, whatever floats your boat needed for my beloved Trey.

Trey's a near 11 year old male sheltie who has been having some issues lately.  He has a history of tumors and is now having some sort of epsiodes.  We don't know what's going on.  They're doing bloodwork on him tonight.  I worry because his sire died of cancer at the age of 12.  ;Please keep him in your thoughts.

Well, so far bloodwork came back and the white blood cell count was a touch high and liver function was slightly off.  So he's going back in either Thursday or Friday to get more testing done to try to pinpoint what it is.  right now it could be a number of things from not very serious to very serious.

To top it off, the fish died today too.  Not a very good day for me.

Thanks for the support.  We couldn't get in the doctor's until Monday, so more waiting.  The waiting is what kills me.

Yes, RIP Wal-Mart the betta.  (A 7 year old (when we got him) named him)

I'm late getting to this thread, but still sending good vibes for Trey.  The waiting for results has got to be one of the worst kinds of anxiety - the mind goes to all kinds of bad scenarios until you get the results.  I hope the news is good.

Condolences for the loss of your beta.  We "babysat" a neighbor's beta for a week once; he was a cool little guy.  We enjoyed him.

Good thoughts and healing vibes for Trey.

Sorry about Wal-Mart - not easy losing those Bettas, I know - I'm sure you could use that calming presence at this time.

    How's Trey doing?
    • Gold Top Dog
Well, he got the rest of his scans done today, and no cancer, so that is good.  Turns out he has a bunch of fat deposits in his bladder, which the vet said are easily treated.  Right now he's trying to manage it through some medication and low fat diet.  The 'seisuring' is actually Trey cramping as this is supposed to be insanely painful.  So he'd cramp and freak himself out at the same time.  It makes sense as the episodes didn't look exactly like a seisure to me.  So we'll see how the treatment goes for now.  The tumor on his butt hasn't grown any either, so that's good news as well.

Thank you all for the support again.  I'll keep you updated on how the treatment's going.
