For Puppy & her family

I posted some of this on the IMHA thread -- this lady hasn't been approved yet to post, and they are trying SO hard.

I've been emailing and talking on the phone with a lady named Kim who has a buffy cocker (she's 4 I think) named "Puppy". This dog was her husband's (and they just got married two weeks ago and merged two 2-dog homes into a 4-dog home and Puppy got sick while they were on their honeymoon -- not an ideal scenario)

Puppy's not responding easily and the PCV is sliding down low again (and it's going to be very difficult -- they really can't afford a 3rd transfusion) & vets are being quite discouraging. But she's had two transfusions and she's trying to hold on. Folks -- prayers and good thots for this family please? Puppy is trying HARD and so this this couple. They've added the cyclo and thyroid supplement today. She just can't post yet but I just feel like the prayers & good thots & support on here would be SO helpful to them!

I spoke briefly with Puppy's mom, Kim -- she had a pretty good day with more appetite than she'd had.

Her blood is so dangerously low -- one of the abx used as preventive may have been worsening the lack of appetitie She's holding back on that for a while.

She only has access thru work so she can't post til Monday. She SO appreciated the support when I told her!

Keep lifting her up & thinking good thots please!

YAY -- Kim called me a bit ago -- Puppy's doing well. They went back for bloodwork and the hematacrit is rising (not fast, but it means that she's turned a bit of a corner) - she IS eating.

Please folks -- keep praying and thinking good thots!!!

Talked to her for quite a long time tonight -- Puppy is doing well, still not wanting to each much but more than she was when on the antibiotic. But this lady is trying SO HARD!!!

Puppy, do keep eating sweet girl. We know you don't feel like it, but it's really important. Take a couple little bites and then a couple more. (((hugs for your Mom)))

I should have updated this yesterday -- Puppy didn't make it. She was doing really well, but a lot of 'pred panting' (meaning it was being really hard on her heart I think) but "Dad" came home and she just couldn't stand .. and she passed in his arms. She held on to see him (these folks just got married -- Puppy had been his dog.)

These folks appreciated the support and prayers SO much -- they got extra time with her that they likely wouldn't have had. They are devastated -- these folks tried SO hard.
