Healing vibes needed for Goliath - shadowsgin

I had posted last week in Canine connection that Goliath the Newf needed 1 more leg for transport to his forever home.  I asked my contact if he managed to get to his new home and this is the reply I received. This just brings me to tears, I would ask you all to send your stongest healing vibes to Goliath and his new Mom.  Bev, thanks for giving your home to this sweet boy....you and Goliath will be in my prayers

[NewfMixRescue] One Leg Left! Re: Trans: Circleville, OH-Williamsport, PA - Saturday, 12/3

I was wondering if Goliath made it to his forever home this weekend?
    Ginger
Ginger, he did.  However, I have some very bad news.  One week ago today, Goliath was neutered by the vet that the shelter uses.  He totally botched everything.  Goliath's new mom, Bev, had to rush him to the ER vet yesterday.  He has a severe infection and his *** is twice the size it was before he was neutered.  The ER vet said he had never seen anything like it.  The shelter's vet is not the only one at fault.  The shelter staff also needs to be held accountable as Goliath was clearly in distress all last week while he remained there waiting for transport.  In addition, they allowed him to be transported on Saturday despite the fact that he was in no condition to travel.

A fundraiser is in the process of being set up to help Bev pay for Goliath's mounting vet expenses.  These expenses would be totally unnecessary had the vet been qualified to do his job and had the shelter taken steps to help Goliath when it was obvious he needed help.  Because I was the person who coordinated Goliath's transport, the shelter had all of my contact info and should have let me know that Goliath was in trouble, yet they did not.  Nor did they contact Bev.  Goliath should never have been transported on Saturday given his condition.

    Bev
was up all night with Goliath last night because he could not sleep and kept crying out in pain.  What happened to him is barbaric and outrageous!  If anyone wants to make a donation to Bev to help her pay for Goliath's vet care, please let me know and I will provide you with the necessary info.

Please keep Goliath in your prayers.

    Thank you,

    Trudie

Awww, poor Goliath!  Sending all the spare healing vibes I got his way!  Sounds like he deserves a big break and a happy life with a furever home.

    All my best.

Loads of healing vibes going out for Goliath and hugs to his new mom.

The carelesness leading to this on the part of the shelter employees and vet is so maddening. They should be cited (at the least) for active neglect of duty and that vet should have a formal complaint lodged against him with the state vet board.

gosh that is terrible! Poor guy! They should just remove the scrotal sac and be done with it! I hope it all turns out okay for the poor dog~

Oh this just makes me sick -- what some of these dogs go thru to get adopted.  Why on earth they didn't just call someone??

I agree; this is outrageous. Sending tons of healing vibes for Goliath.

Heartbreaking!!!  Poor big guy.  I agree with Thalie at least.  Emmotionally I want the people responsible for his agony to feel his pain.  Realistically I know that's not possible but it would be fitting.

I'm just seeing this but hoping that by now Goliath is doing much better. Reading about what he's been thru makes me want to have a good, long cry. I pray he's able to start enjoying the life he deserves now.

Oh, that's awful. Poor Goliath. I can't believe nobody said anything or helped him along the way. I hope they can get him fixed up and feeling better quickly.

Oh my gosh--this is awful. Goliath, I hope you feel better soon, big guy. Soft ear rubs for you and hugs for your new mom.

The latest word on Goliath is that they are having to keep him sedated.  I have received his new mom's email addy so I am going to check on him.

Poor Goliath.  I just hope that that means that it's so he can relax & heal.  Please be sure to tell his mom that we're pulling for him.  I'm sure I don't need to tell you that.  More healing vibes for the big boy.

I kept thinking about Goliath all night. I hope he's beginning to heal and is feeling a bit more comfortable. Sending prayers and hugs.
