First, thank you all again, you rock.
Second, Kord is doing well, he is off a little bit, but I think and am happy for the sedatives, no zoomies for him for a few days. He has eaten and gone potty here at home.
Third, the hubby is in ICU recovering from cath surgery. It seems his stents that went in a little over a year ago decided to travel, well one did anyway. so basically one moved and caused more blockage to start and the other was showing scar tissue, so they replaced both with a complete different type and set. He will either be released late tomorrow or early Friday.
Forth, you all are the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure to come in contact with. Hugs to each and everyone of you.
Fifth. Cathy.....you wanted to know what made us suspect bloat. Nothing at first. The first 20 minutes he acted very weird, indicated to us that he had to out NOW...under the I need to throw up card. Then he paced, and paced and paced, and he was licking his lips or air licking. Then he wanted to play, then he laid down, when he laid down his shoulders were hunching, like he had the hiccups. I asked the FB people about that, then I noticed the biggest indicator of all,. my thin dog looked full and fat. I called the vet, went over symptoms with them, because at this point I figured we had either an obstruction, or bloat. They said bring him and lets look.
After the xray, you could clearly see that the top 85% of his stomach was way out of whack and filling...the vet said it was a good thing we did catch it or it might very well have continued to grow, and thus twist. Because it did not they were able to put a tube down his throat and decompress his stomach. And that is his story!
