Thank you guys. We are going to let him go today. He has an infected growth in his chest cavity. It's inoperable due to the organs it is surrounding. They can't even tell me for sure what the growth is without exploratory surgery, which he probably wouldn't survive anyway. His labs are normal, but he has been wasting away to the point where he has practically no muscle left and cannot lift himself from laying down. He apparently isn't digesting any of the little food that he has eaten. He is comfortable though and will have a peaceful passing with me and my boyfriend holding him. I know he will have a warm welcome at the bridge from our family, two-legged and four-legged.
That is both of my velcro dogs in 4 months - I won't know what to do without tripping over a dog every time I move.
