Dawn's Mom passed away this morning and she's going to be on the road by 5:00 a.m. to drive to Chicago to help her Dad plan the funeral, etc.
Apparently this had happened before but her Mom "got backed up" but actually there was some sort of rupture over the weekend and by the time the doctors found it early today, she was on her way into surgery and died before they could operate. She spoke to her Mom early today and she was very "out of it" and Dawn said she had a horrible feeling when she got off the phone. They couldn't locate her Dad to get permission to do surgery and finally called Dawn, but by then it was too late.
Things are quite complicated and Dawn's husband is going to stay home with Kord, and Dawn will travel alone. She chose to drive rather than fly smply so it will give her time to collect herself before she gets to Chicago and family.
She thought she wouldn't be missed -- and I set her straight on that!! (of COURSE we will miss her!!) But she's pretty upset folks -- please pray/think good thots for travel mercies for her (I hate for her to be driving when upset, but I also understand her need to have her own car with her AND her need to get her thoughts together before she arrives).
She figures she'll be gone til Sunday or Monday. There's a lot to be done. Lots of family but scattered all over.
