Update: Good thoughts for Jeremy, please

Jeremy had a physical last week. Well, they found a few moles that looked "odd" so he's having them removed today and tested. One is huge and odd shaped and colored and it bumps up off the skin.

If you can spare some good thoughts for him that'd be much appreciated!

Good thoughts coming your way!  He's doing the right thing...don't wait...get'em off.  Keep us posted.

Yep, good for him for getting them taken care of. I'll think good *benign* thoughts for him :)

Absolutely -- prayers said while I'm taking my break and with every remembrance of him as the time passes.

Sending good thoughts and prayers.  My family, myself included, has a history of moles.   I always have mine checked especially when a new one comes up.   Its worth the time and effort to keep on top of them not to mention the peace of mind.

Oh man, let us know how it goes! My BF is a lifeguard so we've got experience with 'funny moles'.

Doesn't Jeremy do outdoor work? I can recommend some good sunscreens if you want.

Jeremy will be in my prayers and thoughts, Stephanie.

Well, the specialist that took the moles off didn't think any of them were a serious concern except that nasty one. But, she said don't worry about it. They're going to call us with the results.

Yes, I would love some recommendations! He's very fair (blonde hair, blue eyes, never tans only burns and freckles. He works outside year round.

Ok, I asked BF. He said if you can get Jeremy to use Shiseido, it's the BEST - but it's a women's concealer sooo that might take a little work, LOL. It's the only thing that doesn't wash off of BF's face all day long (since he's in and out of the water). It's expensive but you should only keep sunscreen for one year, anyway, and it lasts us about that long.

Hawaiian Tropic is BF's favorite for all over usage, so hopefully Jeremy doesn't mind smelling like a coconut! DON'T use it on the face, it burns like heck when it runs! Bull Frog sucks, don't waste your money on it. Another fav with the other guys is Ocean Potion. I've had luck with the Neutrogena sunscreens, but BF doesn't like them.

Make sure he wears a shirt, too - they make them with sunscreen built-in, but since they aren't part of BF's uniform at work he can't wear them. Try to get him to wear a hat, if you can. Remember to sunscreen places like EARS and the backs of hands, and to use a lip block with sunscreen in it (Burt's Bees makes one called 'Lifeguard's Choice' that is good). The most important thing is to check every mole, DAILY. They change in an instant! I check BF's back subconsciously now :) I'm sure his dermatologist sent him home with a pamphlet on what to look for, but you could google it. It's 4 s'es, I think...shape, size, uuuh...something. LOL.

Can you tell I know a bunch about sun protection?! Sooooorry! I'm glad that it turned out to be nothing, but all the more reason to be careful now!

Be a little careful of the ones that smell sweet and/or coconutty ... I put one of those on years ago to putter around in the back yard and in a few minutes I was surrounded by bees. Indifferent

Meg, thank you very much! I will be on the look out for those t-shirts w/ sunscreen in them. He wears a hat all the time, so that's good. My biggest concern is this summer with him wearing sunscreen/t-shirt when I'm not there....urgh.....

Stephanie, I'm late seeing this thread about Jeremy.  I hope the news continues to be good if there are any biopsy results yet to be received.  As someone with a husband who (1) spent many years of his life working outside in the sun all summer, and (2) wears sunscreen only when nagged and refuses to wear anything above an SPF 6, I can relate to the frustration of worrying if they're taking necessary precautions at all times.  My husband says it's too late for him to worry about it, that all the damage was done many years ago when he was wearing zero sunscreen.  He's probably right, and he's got the wrinkles and freckles to prove it!

Sometimes it takes a bit of a scare with a doctor's input to make people (especially males) alter some health habits, so maybe he'll use the sunscreen and shirts more than you think!

We haven't heard back from any of them yet...and that one I'm worried about. The doctor said the others ones are probably benign because of the way they came off but they're all getting tested.

I hope so! He's pretty subborn, but I think this put a much needed scare in him.

EEEEK!  Stephanie, I'm just seeing this now.  So many good thoughts coming your & Jeremy's way for clear margins & no C.
