Adoption update (two legged baby)...please keep the prayers coming EXCITING NEWS!!

I received an update this morning from my niece.  Apparently the log jam is starting to break in the issueing of birth certificates w/o bribe money paid and it is beginning to look like there may be some real hope for Ana to get her new birth certificate soon.

What had happened, is that files were pulled for "errors" that didn't exist and had to go through a delay and "review" for a period of 30 business days.  In the past week SIX b.c. have been issued to babies of J's agency, and they refuse to pay the "expediting fee" (bribe).

Ana's 30 days will be up on March 4th and hopefully  her b. cert will be issued within a week of that date.  J and B and the kids will travel to Guatamala for Spring Break (B is a public school teacher) so that they can actually parent their child, and it is hoped that her visa appointment will fall during, or very close to that time, so that B doesn't have to take too many unpaid leave days.  The hope is that Ana will be able to come home with them at that time.

It is beginning to look like things may finally move forward and that Ana can finally come home.  She is almost 10 months old.  Her 7 year old brother and 5 year old sister are anxious for her to come home and to be part of their family.

The good news in all this is that J and B feel that their faith has grown incredibly during this trial.

If I could ask for just a little extra burst of prayer for this family??  Let's please put the power of idoggers to work and finally bring this child home where she belongs.

This has been agonizing for your niece and her husband; it's wonderful that their faith has helped them through this and has grown stronger. I'll pray that Ana is able to join them very soon.

You got it, Glenda.  Prayers, good thoughts, crossed fingers and paws.

Heavens.  Just got another update from Jen.  Apparently she received a "vague" email from the agency that some of the babies who were under review, parts of their files are going to be reviewed AGAIN.  They don't know if this is for Ana or not, but they are quite upset that this may be the case.

These constant delays are  because the agency won't pay a bribe to expedite the process.  Whatever official is doing this seems not to realize that he is dealing with LIVES, not only of the babies involved, but the people who love them and want to take them home.

How sad. I'll continue to pray for them.

Sad as it is Glenda, I don't think the official cares about any of that.  The driving force for him is $$$, otherwise that baby would have been home long ago. We'll keep fingers and paws crossed.

    Ana is coming home!!!

Just talked to my sister and the birth certificate has been issued!  They are looking at going down during Spring break next month for their appointment at the embassy to get Ana's visa and then bring her home.

So, one family hardship is solved.  My turn now?
