Asking for prayers for my husband

Asking for prayers for my husband

As some of you know, my husband is terminally ill with liver disease. He has fooled the doctors and has lived 2 years beyond what they said he would. and has been able to stay at home in relative comfort and has been happy. He refused all medical care since" they clearly don't know what they are talking about"
Well a week ago he woke up screaming in pain and unable to move. He didn't want medical help even then but I was able to talk him into it, telling him I just couldn't watch him die in agony. So it was for me that he went not for himself. We found out now on top of all his other problems he has a compression fracture of the spine due to bone degeneration . He is too medically unstable for surgery so they are just looking at pain management and rehab to get him to his previous level so he can come home. Right now it doesn't look good.
What I'm hoping for is of course a miracle but barring that that he will get better so he can come home and accept hospice care so he can die at home pain free and happy.Which is just a smaller miricle I'm asking for.
We really could use all the prayers, I'm Really really scared Thanks Julie

I am so sorry to hear about your DH.  I will be praying for both of you and for the best possible outcome from all this.

Men can be so difficult sometimes especially when it comes to health issues.  Mine has CMT but refuses to go back to the doctors so he lives in constant pain.

Hope it helps some to know you have people praying for you.

Julie - I hadn't posted (just cos I've been busy with my own stuff) but every single time I read the title of this thread I've been lifting you guys up.

Did the doctor give your husband anything topical for the back pain??   There are a lot of essential oils that are really good as topical anti-inflammatories -- they aren't going to "fix" anything but they can make the pain much more bearable (especially since he probably can't take much orally).

Just at your local health store you should be able to find peppermint and/or wintergreen oils.  The more you use and the more you rub the more "heat" you get.  But they can be a good addition to whatever else you're doing.

White Flower Oil is always my personal favorite for any kind of 'bone' pain.  It's an essential oil blend (it has wintergreen, peppermint, eucalyptus and others in it) -- flatly I couldn't live without it.  I order it online but some acupuncturists carry it and some health stores.

Sending healing thoughts and prayers for both you and your husband.

My coworker's mother had some spinal compression fractures related to bone loss related to stomach cancer.  I think she and the family had lost all hope, but thru medications and physical therapy, she's been back home now for 8 months.  They did bring in a home care nurse for the first few weeks, so you'll probably want to consider that too.  Please remember to take care of yourself too during this rough time.

juliekay, I may be walking in your shoes someday, as my BF has severe liver disease.  If your DH is a candidate for transplant, I hope that prayer is answered, but if not, then may your wish for peace and no pain be answered.  <<>>
