Please keep me in your prayers

Hey yall too the ones that know me on here, and too the ones that do not.

If yall do not mind keeping me in your prayers. I have been clean and sober now going on a little over a month. What is a great thing for me! But it is not an easy task. Im also struggling with some other emotional problems, that I have started too see a doctor for. So this is hopefully a new start too a better life. Please just keep me in your thought and prayers Thank you

One step at a time, one day at a time.  Never get too tired.  Never get too hungry. Never get too bored.  Never get too lonely.  It's easier to find your way back to the path when you are watching that one step at a time.  And if you've got a good grip on your dog's leash you'll see the look in his eyes when he wishes you'd pay more attention to him than what you shouldn't be paying attention to anyway.  The toughest times in my life, Chris, I've been brought thru by my dogs' love for me.  Doing what I ought to do was often meaningless until I gauged it against doing what would make SURE I could take care of them ... now that kept me straight.

Been there, done it Christopher.  I'm not saying empty words -- staying level can be tough.  Making sure I can look my dog in the eye and not feel like I've let them down ... that's an accomplishment.  Make sense?  Good luck. (and you've got the good thots and prayers)

Christopher - congratulations on reaching the one month milestone and I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers for continued success.  As Callie said, one step at at time, one day at a time, maybe even one hour at a time.  I've been thru this with family and loved ones, and fully understand how difficult it is.  If you don't have a support group, please join one.  If you go to one and don't like it, don't give up on it.  Find another one.  A good sponsor can make all the difference in the world too.

Christopher, don't worry.  Take it one day at a time, and...when you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot in the darn thing and *hang on* - sometimes it's one minute at a time!!! Ask for help and don't drink - one day at a time you will recover.  Best wishes to you.

Christopher, good for you. I know how hard it is but you can stay on top of it.
Two years ago I got hooked on percocet. I had been taking them for close to a year due to pain from uterine cancer and after my surgery I was so strung out because I didn't have them any longer. 1 year later my appendix burst and I was put back on them for pain control. The withdrawl this time was terrible. I was so use being high all the time that it became a regular way of life.
The first time I had the perks and was running low, I went to my gynecologist, family doctor, 3 different hospitals just so I could keep a good supply on hand. I ended up with 27 perscriptions in 7 months time. Man I felt like crap coming off them but somehow managed to succeed and now I am afraid to take anything stronger than advil.
You can do it my friend. It takes a hell of alot of willpower but once you are sober for a period of time, life doesn't seem that bad. I will be praying for strength for you.
    (((hugs)))

That's wonderful, Christopher - congratulations on this significant decision and milestone!  I don't have any pearls of wisdom to offer - just support.  This is a great thing you are doing for yourself!

Christopher, I'm late getting to your thread.  Congratulations on your one month of sobriety, and best wishes for another month, and then another and another.  I'll echo what Callie said -- let the support and love of others, especially your pups, be the inspiration you need at the toughest times.  Take care!
