Prayers for Baby....

My dad has this cat that he's had since she was just a little kitty--she is now 16 or 17, and I think she is preparing to make the journey over the Bridge. She is losing weight despite 2 cans of cat food a day, her eyes are cloudy, she's losing hair, and she is just generally not herself at all. This cat has been his closest companion for years and he loves her dearly--I think he is going to have a really hard time dealing with this.

Prayers for Baby and my dad would be greatly appreciated. Prayers for recovery if it is not yet her time, and if it is--prayers for a peaceful transition for both her and my father--thank you.....[

Sending prayers for Baby and your Dad...it's really hard to watch them losing ground.

Just curious if she has been seen by a Vet...maybe some fluids would perk her up for a while. There are a lot of options that a Vet can use, and I know a lot of cat owners don't use a Vet as much as dog owners.

I'm going to try to encourage the vet option, but he's not a vet kind of guy. I asked in a different thread what sort of OTC pain meds I could give a cat and when I told him one of the responses advised taking her to the vet, he responded with "Did you tell them to kiss your a$$?"

So, you can see what I'm dealing with. I think he's afraid of what the vet will tell him. He still thinks it's all fleas (I didn't see any on her) and that she will get better.
