I went out to Grace again today and one of the 1st things I always do is to check on my sponsor horse, Jessie. When I was there on Tuesday I saw that she'd injured her rear hock/hoof area. No one seemed to know how but I found out today that she'd panicked and tried to jump the fence. Jessie is blind and her seeing-eye horse and best friend is a old gelding named Bullseye. They were surrendered together several years ago. When she loses contact with Bullseye, she panics and it's gotten worse lately. I was told today that they will likely put her down in the next week or so. Part of me is relieved that she'll be free from fear and pain but I'm so very sad that there are no other options. Other than being blind, she's a healthy, beautiful mare. Please pray for a peaceful passing for her.
