I have some down time where I can just worry and fret and spin my wheels.

This is what happened. So I went to Echo's obed. class last night.  After class I was chatting with the lady  "S" who hosts the class at her little dog boutique.  There was a poodle in the next class and I mentioned to her how I'd love to have another poodle some day.  She gae me a look and said "are you serious about that?"  I said "Maybe"

TUrns out there was an elderly man who owned an 11 lb poodle from Bar King Poodles. He got her a year ago as a retired champion.  SO this poor old man falls and breaks his hip, turns his dog over to his daughter since he cannot care for her anymore.   Daughter came in and asked S if she knew anybody.  Fast forward 1 week and I show up. 

She calls the daughter and leaves my name and number.  Daughter never calls me so I called this morning.  She took the dog TO THE POUND!!!!!!!!

So now I'm in the process of trying to spring her. The shelter opens for adoptions at 11 (pacific).  I called S who called her friend in a rescue who has some pull to try to get this poor girl out asap.  Far as the lady at the shelter could tell, they were waiting on the temperament test.  S is just sick about it.

I will do my best to pull her and then try to go from there. I already tried contacting the breeder as well.

Not that I need another dog but sometimes there's a pull at your heart and you at least have to try. Right or wrong, if it's meant to be...

So I'll hopefully have a good update soon.

Sounds like it's definitely meant to be. I hope you're able to get her out of there, quick.

We got to the shelter and she was waiting- however there wasn't a connection and she very much did not like the kids :(

The shelter staff adore her and she particularly loves men. THey assured mme she would find a home and be ok.

I notified her breeder and so she is going to call the shelter as well and see what she can do.  She was on a pet contract with the first right of refusal (must be returned).  So she is understandably upset.

I will be keeping tabs on her to make sure all goes well.

They did have an adorable toy poodle boy there though........  ;)    DH was not very much on board with the idea either.  Oh well.
