Hap has surgery this morning *update*

    *Update*

We're home! So...either I did an awful job of calming him (I was singing along with the radio on the way to the vet this morning) or he knows that when only one dog goes to the vet, something bad's going to happen. The area's really dark and his stitches are huge but he seems fine. His eyes are all drugged up, but he ate a little bit and he desperately wants to play (he's loving the new special stuffies he got especially for today). Apparently, my new problem is just going to be keeping the two best friends from being too active...and that's definitely a problem I'm okay with having =)!!

By the way, I should have the test results in about a week. Hopefully they come back all clear!

So I know it's a noninvasive little surgery. It's not like they have to really open his skin even, just a little bit...but I'm terrified. He's my puppy and he's never been through a surgery before (other than getting neutered which was before my time with him). And I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing.. the vet and my mom aren't concerned, but it's changed color since I first saw it and all the websites say that means getting it checked again. And even if it only changed color because he scratched..I think it still needs to be removed b/c that must hurt since there's a nerve? I guess. Sigh. I just wish I knew I was doing the right thing. Anyways, keep him in your thoughts for me. =(

He'll be fine.  I know you're worried sick but he'll be ok.  Juat a little piece of friendly advice and I don't mean to minimize your feeling of worry and concern but dogs are very perceptive of our feelings and emotions.  If you transmit your fear and worry to Hap, it may cause him stress over a minor surgery.  I know you don't want that.

I'll keep him in my thoughts.  :)

When you've been here longer, you'll realize that, very often, what we call the famous idog vibes have helped lots of us during scary or bad times.  So, I'm sending some healing vibes to your pup, and some calming vibes to you.

    Big Smile

Jamison went through something similar not too long ago.  I was a wreck also, but he turned out to be just fine !!!  Hang in there !!!

I'm glad he's home and enjoying his new toys. :)  I hope the biopsy results are completely benign.
