Why does Bubblegum do this?

Marlowe is a head-butter, but not a knibbler. I think he's part cat. He loves to rub his head all over me, and then he rolls all over the bed or the sofa or whatever he's on, moaning and groaning in a most undignified manner.

Yeap maybe this time he wanted you to pay even more attention to him and knibble you asking to "cuddle back"

You know,,,I honestly don't think its zoomies when she does this "upstairs" thing.  She does do the zoomies a lot, in fact, at least few times a week,,and I do believe its when she is happy.  And while she is doing it...she does grab a stuffy or a toy...and kind of throws it and tries to get it on the way zoomin by.  BUT the stairs thing,,,is different because she in not zooming,,,not really running, just seems to be trying to protect something.....ANYTHING. It was comical to see her pick up her whole big bed and walk with it...but when I told her to put it down she went to "grab" something else.   But she brought the "something else" into the room I was in,,and that was the direction she was trying to bring her bed. She almost acted like she was trying to keep it away from DH.  And then she layed in the room I was in and WATCHED DH......almost as though she was guarding.
DPU, yes,,,YES YES YES Bubby positions in my lap...and DHs.  And friends that might visit if they sit and she makes up with them.   She DOES bury her head into me (and others) for what seems to be several reasons....one is in morning when she seems to want to cuddle...whether she be in bed with me or I am up and she needs a hugs for a minute or two...but if she gets reprimanded..she always comes and buries her head in my armpit.   Almost as though she is embarrassed!
The nibble makes me wonder what dogs and their sibblings or babies do when they are together...do they nibble each other?  I have NO DOUBT that often Bubblegum thinks I am "one of her litter!"   LOL!

I don't know, my Pit Bull does the front-teeth nibble thing.  I thought it was just because she's still a puppy, but maybe I was wrong!  Those front teeth really pinch, so I discourage her from doing it, even though I think that SHE thinks she's being sweet [sm=angel.gif]

    1) Wesley would chew nip and nibble on us all day if we let him.  It stinks when they get carried away and leave a bruise...  We keep saying we are going to train him not to do it - but we don't [8|]...

    2) Rather than zoomies - this sounds to me like an attempt to calm herself - Wes for example needs to grab a toy in his mouth (and if there is none in sight, a pillow, shirt, mitten or anything else in sight will do), for example, when we get home...  He races around but needs something in his mouth, and then he needs to lay down and chew it for a few seconds, to calm himself before he can resume normal activity.  Could this be it?  Maybe she was guarding, but guarding what, maybe you, but that doesn't explain picking up the bed and then the toy...  hmmmm.

It's not a dane thing with the nibbling, Gobi does the same thing, all day long if you let him. He even nibbles the rabbits. (they don't like that at all)
I think it's just a way of saying "give me some lovin!"

Boy does THIS seem like you hit the nail on the head. Thats exactly what it sounds like she is doing.........HHHHmmmmmm!!!     I know Ollie, my sons Dane always greets people with one of his toys in his mouth when they come over.   Its kind of the same thing I think. Bubby doesn't do that because she is too busy barking at everyone that walks in,,,trying to tell them this is her house and they should leave.

Yeah they SURE DO PINCH!!  I do have a bruise on my shoulder from it.   Its the kind of front teeth nibbling they do to themselves....geez..it must hurt them when they are doing it...I would think!

I think dogs must have tougher skin... have you ever watched the way dog's bite eachother's faces when they play?  Ouch!  But now that you mention it, yeah, Scout nibbles like that when she has an itch... maybe Bubblegum thought you were itchy?[;)]

My dog rubs his head and nose on me.  He also does it on the floor.  And he brings toys to greet people all the time.  Considering all you guys that own dogs that do this too, it seems more common than I thought.
