My mother's old vet had puppy preschool at his practice, always kept liver treats handy to try to win the dogs over, and was always as gentle as possible. However, he saw Pyry staring at him waiting eagerly for a liver treat one day and said "This dog is dominant". My mother asked what made him think that. He said "Look at the way he's looking at us. He's staring and he's so fixated. You'll have to do something about this before it becomes a serious problem." Mother took her dog home and cheerfully ignored the advice. He's still her dog heart and soul and has never showed any signs of wishing to dominate people.
