easy walk harness or gentle leader?

We have a few EW harnesses for our shelter dogs. They are fitted and taged with whatever dog they belong with.

When I started there - the walkers were all pro-choke chain/prong. We did away with those quickly, and they've been very pleased with the harnesses.

We clip them to their collars, and for the sneaky ones - they get a slip kennel lead around them too. Covers all bases - and keeps them attached.

I wouldn't say they can't train a dog either - I used one for Casey for a long time, and now he's so used to walking next to me, without pulling, he does it just on a flat.

No, but in the shelter environment, you are trying to walk dogs quickly so that each dog gets out, and at least some of the dogs are more likely to be types that will try to escape - the Sporn is harder to get out of than the EW.  I think Sense-ation was the first, but it has a stationary chest ring, and the EW ring slides.  The Sporn is better for handlers who are inclined to jerk the dog around, too - because the EW can injure a shoulder if the dog hits the end of the leash hard.

Interesting. It looks like you are recommending the Sporn only for shelter dogs. When I volunteered at a shelter the dogs did occasionally get out of the EW.

If I am understanding you correctly, what is better about the EW over the Sporn for regular house dogs?
