    HARD (play) biting

I have asked so many questions in other areas about my dogs behaviour and weird things he does, but here's another one! Sometimes when I'm petting him, just gentley or crazy play petting, he goes NUTS and gets all happy and tries to bite my hands REALLY hard! But he's not mad or anything, cause the tails waggin and he does his hippo mouth (he puts his lips up on his teeth when he's excited and wants you to play with him, lol it looks like a hippo's mouth) No matter what, I stop the play right away and walk away from him, just like I always do when he bites. When he was a puppy he was a BIG biter, and it took a long time for him to learn it's not acceptable for teeth to touch skin. I think maybe he still thinks he's allowed to bite. (I've tried doing the high-pitched yelp, but he just gets excited by that and it gets worse) Is there another way I can teach him not to bite? Because stopping play or saying "NO BITE" doesn't seem to work.

(And this is just a wierd thing that he does, but if you rub your foot on the coffee table and make that friction sort of "Fart" sound, know what I mean? well when you do that, he goes INSANE! He bolts on over and barks at your foot like it's done something wrong! it's so funny)

Hello, I have a simuliar situation.  But I wouldn't think of it as a problem, yet .  I have a dog that looks just like yours.  The same facial faetures, but she's brown and white.  She barks when mom comes in the room.  She's only 17 weeks old.  But she doesn't bark at me.  My dog (Laya)  nips when she's at play.  I use a nylabone or a rawhide twisty and when she starts to nip I use either chew toy.  It does work, It saved my fingernails from being chewed off.[:D

our dog is pretty sensitive, so whenever his play gets too far out of hand, we always say " ouch" very loudly, and that seems to help. also, i don't knwo how your dog feels about water, but when kenny gets out of line, we spray him with a water bottle and he doesn't like that either. in fact, most times all we have to do is point the nozzle at him and he will stop what he is doing.
