Ena Bean is resource guarding!

 Tootsie, is also a mommy guarder. When someone hugs me, she goes into crazy bark mode. NILIF and praise for not getting crazy is also my strategy.

 Zhi was a terrible "armpit pirhanna." For like a week. After a week of losing her "princess" privileges the second she got snarky, she got wise and mostly thinks twice now. I would say, "Bye-bye!" and put her on the floor. When she does this in the crate, I move the crate to somewhere out of the line of traffic (little dogs rock).

Being the terrier-ish brat that she is, she still unleashes the "Cry of the Crested" occaisionally - mostly if she's on the bed or the couch next to me and spots something she disapproves of. Then the one-bark rule prevails. She NEVER figures out the one-bark rule and always ends up getting banned. Then she trots in circles in a huff for a while, but she doesn't try it again. I don't let her back up until she gets over the huffy 'tude.

 I made her sleep on the floor, last night. Didn't lock her up, just told her "off" til she gave up. I thought it'd be more effective. She seems a bit calmer, today, but got really snarly at work, over dogs too close to her crate. I put her in one of the up high crates, and she calmed down. Goober.

 Kirby went through a bit of a resource guarding phase with other dogs around me.  His was easy to cure though because as soon as he realized I was not going to back him up it stopped.  Honestly I'm not even sure it was resource guarding as much as he thought he could act tough between my legs because mom would be there to protect him... XP
