One thing that might help is to keep a lead on her in the house so you can direct her when she is out of control. Use sit and down...does she have a stay? Also the kids need to also be calm, so you can work this out. She may never be a dog that can be calm when kids are running around acting like kids. Some dogs would always rather join in and act up LOL.
I keep her crated right at first then let her out with the lead on....allow them to interact while the kids are calm...and at the FIRST sign of hyper...put her into a down/stay. Reward her and keep her there until she is focused on you and your rewards. Then release. Maybe if you do this along with treating her when she does something good like lie down of her own accord....she will catch on.
But really I wouldn't even attempt this if the kids aren't on board and willing to be calm and help you out, and understand you are trying to train her to be a better pal.
