millers down

• millers down SarahElizabeth Posted : 7/30/2008 3:02:05 PM i know hes still young but should i in time use millers sheepdog antics when he goes into the stalk then he lies flat to the ground. should i work from that to achieve his down command. or teach from the basics? sit, then down. • erica1989 Posted : 7/30/2008 6:23:58 PM I teach my puppies through things they already do - like when he lies down - say down and treat. I generally teach sit and leave it first. I have a harder time with down with the pups I have - generally. I had one dog that would crawl on the floor (army crawl) so I added the 'crawl' command, and he began to do it every time I asked for it. It was really cute, and super easy.
