My Dog Bit Me

I just wanted to say that you've gotten some of the best advice this forum has to offer. Spiritdogs has a wealth of experiences, including owning an Aussie and Brookscove owns and trains them, if I remember correctly, as a cattle dogs. So, they always have a challenging job to do, one way or another. But good luck to you, either way.

Thee was a similar problem posted on one of my golden retriever forums today.  It is a golden mix and not 5 months old.  For no reason it started going afer the family maltese and even drew blood  It woud rush 20 feet across the room to get that little dog.  But then it also went afer the family great dane and drewblood.  But I am think the poster said it doesn't bother the family cat at all, but seeing the other dogs, will just start snarling, bristle up and go afer them.  So far it hasn't gone after humans.

They do not know what the mix with the golden is, but have learned the father and mother may be brother and sister.  They have tgried everything listed above, but to no avail.    It is a sad situation there and here.  I honestsly believe somedogs, as humans, are born with a mental problem that can't be fised.

I do not think Luther has mental problems.  I think it is more likely that our environment is not the right fit for him.  Don't get me wrong, we do EVERYTHING we can to make it right for him.  But, I'm afraid Luther needs some brothers and sisters and perhaps a big field to run in.
