OMG! I'm so freaked out! Every now and then, CoCo, who LOVES everybody, stranger and friends alike, and has a very submissive personality, (aka when she thinks she's in "trouble" will come to you when called and then lie down and roll over on her back, all four paws in the air, as to say she surrenders), will be sleeping (it's 1am right now!) on bed with me, with her pink pig, and just suddenly, hears something out of my window and FLIPS out!
When I say flip out, this VERY calm dog will literally turn into a she-devil.....jumping on EVERYTHING, knocking things over, going all out of control, and barking and crying at the same time. NOTHING I've done has alleviated this sudden on set of behavior. I've tried to use a stern voice to tell her "Thank you, enough!" which works when she is barking at something during the day to shut her up right away. I've tried to soothe her by "Baby-ing" her...and today, she was so flipped out, knocking over my lap top and everything, I had to hold her down. (I know...I could have been bitten....but honestly, she would NEVER bite anyone even if she's scared out of her mind.) she was shaking so bad! And the sound she made.... it wasn't a growly sound, it wasn't a crying sound.... reminded me of the tazmania devil on animal planet.... I can tell she was so scared of whatever she heard! She never stopped making that sound, and either she would 1. try to wiggle out of my hold, or 2. hide her face in my arm pit.... something she does when she is at the vet and they're giving her a shot.
This carried on for like 15 minutes, until I couldnt take the crying and shaking anymore....So I asked her if she wanted to go "outside" and right away she jumped off my bed, and went up the stairs and kept looking at me to make sure I was following her. I let her outside, where she proceded to run like a maniac around the entire back yard....
What can I do in the future?
This is so freaking me out cause I've never seen her so scared!
