    Moving...new place and new dog....

     Hi ya'll,

I have 2 dogs, both 7 year old rescue kids, a lab, Sadie, and a husky mix, Cash.  I had Sadie for a year before I adopted Cash and integrating Cash into our household was easy.  They're now great buddies.  But we are soon moving into a new place with some roommates, AND a 15 month old bulldog named Delilah.  They met for the first time the other day and the kids did not seem impressed because Delilah is very high energy and very in their face, as babies often are.  My question is, what's the best way to adjust them to Delilah AND move to a new house without causing them both to have an anxiety attack?  There's going to be a lot of change and I want to make the transition for them as easy as possible.  I have a little under a month until we actually move in so we're going to hang out with Delilah some more, but are there any special things I should be doing to make the move less stressful for everybody?  Any advice welcome!!

     Thanks!!

Take them on walks together.  Its a great way for the dogs to begin bonding.

Make sure yours are crate trained and have their OWN space.  A crate is a great equalizer -- mature dogs are often more concerned about having someplace to go the pup can NOT get to them in than anything else.

Make sure also that you talk to your new roomie about making sure you are on the same page about how to prevent the dogs bolting thru the door and getting out.  That's probably THE biggest concern with a roommate situation.
