I was wondering if any of you have used a Target Stick; and how where your results??

I have used a target stick. It's EASY for the dog to pick up on that. Very successful in getting them to know what the clicker means.

I've also used a prong collar - Very successful training tool for teaching a tight heel.
I'm starting with a whistle. Can't say how successful it will be, but I have high hopes!
I've used a walking stick (actually a yucca stalk) as a herding staff on walks. Very successful.
    Treats, praise, toys ...

I can't think of anything I've used that wasn't successful, come to think of it!

    Trust, patience, and knowledge.

The physical tools are clickers, voice, toys, food, freedom to run, tug games, other people, other dogs, distance from people, distance from dogs, gloves, scents, other tricks they like to do, chasing games....basically anything that the dog will work for. I have used the presence of people, with the consequence of increasing distance, as a "tool" to increase appropriate behaviour in human-fearful dogs. In such cases those humans become the "tool" that is used *G*. My tool-kit contains a neverending variety of things to get to the behaviour that I want.

I don't like to limit the "tools" we use to simply the things you hear about everyday, as many things play an important role in working with my gals. And in many cases I don't use a particular "tool" at all, but rather a strategy to get to a desired behaviour.
