You guys will appreciate this

Willow has been on medication since Thursday. What happened was Thursday and Friday I gave it to her right before I left for work. So, feeling sorry for her, after she took it I went down the hall to the living room with her and got her all set up on the couch.

So, yesterday, I'm home all day with her. I give her the pill, she trots down the hall and jumps up on the couch. Smile

What could I say? Apparently, I've given her the impression it's OK to jump on the couch (without asking or being told OK) after taking medicine.

Smile Haha, it's amazing how quickly they pick up isn't it? Willow's a smart girl.

It drives me nuts when I inadvertently teach Honor things like that. And then it feels like you're stuck because you taught them their new favorite trick. Stick out tongue

That one makes me laugh out loud. I remember when Ellie had her new hip implant--it was 16 weeks of crate confinement. When that ended and I took away her crate, she would lay in the spot where it was--poor baby held onto that habit so tightly . . .

Funny, though, how FAST they seem to learn when it's something they want. Hmm--a cozy couch for a pill? Oh yeah, I can do that. Big Smile

Oh yeah, I was laughing out loud at THAT too -- we can teach them things inadvertently but when it is something that's a "rah" or a "yum" .. man they learn it quicker than stink.... PARTICULARLY when it involves doing/getting away with something otherwise a no-no.

You can almost hear them say "But MOM said ...."

That's for certain.

It kind of reminds how I trained retrieve in the house. Usually from the computer chair, because I can toss a kong in 3 different directions. So, in the house, I asked him to get the kong, he did. I said retrieve, he retrieved to the computer chair. Argh .... you get what you reinforce.
