    Tapping me intentfully.

    My dog will look me in the eyes and tap me with her hand, over and over, as though she's asking me something. Is this usual behaviour? She's very precice. Always on my arm. Tap, tap, questionning eyes. Freaks me out, she looks like she's about to say something.

    Russell has discovered this attention-getting behavior in the last few months. Drives me nuts, because it's such an automatic reaction to respond to being tapped on the arm that I keep reinforcing it (he even now understands "what?" means I'm going to grant his wishes [8D]) even though I don't particularly like it!

    It's a demanding behavior that will eventually go away if you continue to ignore it. If you give in, and do what the dog wants, or pay attention (even with eye contact) it will probably continue.  Up to you how to handle it. [:)]

    jason does that too. it melts my heart. as if he is saying "hey there, remember me? yes? then why are you ignoring me??"
    i guess i'm reinforcing it but it's so cute, and if he's gonna do it more, then so be it. i actually love it..
