snoot loops

Hello, I had posted a question about my Presa Canario 'Santo' and his aggression. I have since started talking to a behaviorist, who is also a friend of a doctor i work with(who is also my boss), and she said to get a snoot loop. She said that they arent a muzzle but when you pull on them it kinda swings the dog around to face you and closes the mouth. Have any of you heard of these things?

no, it almost looks like one but it has some attachments that close the mouth when you gently pull on it, and apparently it doesnt swing the dog around. I must have misunderstood her. i looked at the site, snootloop.com, and its fairly cheap and theres a lot of information. I think I am going to get one but was wondering if anyone had used or seen one used before.

Both the devices work in about the same way. But, you can injure your dog if you don't know how to use it properly. The Gentle Leader comes with a DVD, but I don't know about the snoot loop. With a dog as powerful as a Presa, my advice would be to work with a trainer or behaviorist who can show you the techniques you need to refocus his attention on you. It isn't at all about muscling him around toward you, it's about helping him to make the right choice - a default "attention to the handler", if you will. Read "Feisty Fido" by Patricia McConnell.
