Dog gets weird Habbits all of a sudden

I have a shetland sheep dog, he is coming up on 12 years old. He has a really bad hip, so we have to carry him around when he goes to the bathroom and such. Recently, he is following me around, and never use to go in the these locations. He now sits under like a coffee table and such. At night, he keeps barking, until i come downstairs. All night he will keep barking until i come downstairs. Its hard to get a good night sleep. Any idea why he is all of a sudden following me around, and barking when i leave?

I would definitely get a thorough checkup done by your vet. At this age, it could be a multitude of things. One thought is that there may be a problem with the hearing and/or eyesight. Either of those things can make a dog confused and fearful. A vet should be able to help figure it out though.

Maybe its his eye sight getting bad, but its def not his hearing.

definitely a visit to the vet is in order. Many a person has sadly found their dog's first sign of illness to be a dramatic change in behavior-- especially an increase in clinginess.
