    Crate Pooper

Hello.  My family has just adopted an adult male dog.  He is over-all a very sweet boy, but he poops in his crate.  We started feeding him dinner earlier, still he pooped.  We took him out at 11 p.m. and got up at 4:30 a.m. to take him out again - but there was already poop.  I know that he is early in his adjusting stages with us and I know there was a change in food - I work at an animal shelter and understand there is an adjustment stage - I guess I've just never heard of an adult dog ;pooping in their crate when they weren't sick or weren't left in it for hours and hours and hours.  I am probably over-reacting, but as most of you know, cleaning up poo gets very old, very quick.  Thanks for any suggestions!  [:)]

Could you try putting him in a smaller crate? If he doesn't have too much room to move around and get into a pooping position, he may not do it. As you've only recently adopted him, he ;probably still needs time to get into the habit of pooping outside at a particular place. Once he does that i bet he'll stop pooping in his crate :-)
