Hard time fitting GL

• Hard time fitting GL Sarah Posted : 6/20/2006 10:02:45 PM I use a Gentle Leader head collar for my boy Jethro ( it works great-he's over 100lb, and I can easily handle him, and so can my 9 year old sister, who weighs less than him!), however,  I have a hard time knowing whether it is fitted properly. Since he is a long-haired dog, I can never tell if it is the right tightness. I can fit 3 or more fingers in easily, but if I make it any tighter, then it's hard to do up. Any suggestions?? • Mic Posted : 6/20/2006 11:57:51 PM It sounds to loose to me, but I would need to know a little more about how you are fitting it.    The nose loop should rest up at the top of the nose, just below the eyes.  Pull the nose loop down to the tip of the nose to gage tightness.  The loop should touch the top of the fleshy part, but not pull over the end.   The neck loop should be placed very high up on the head just behind the ears and knowledge lump. The GL should from a "V" when on properly, and not a "L".   Hope this helps.    0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
