How to stop a dog from biting/chewing on EVERYTHING?

Just this past Friday, I got a second yorkshire terrier. He has been amazingly good, already knowing to use the potty pads.

However, he has a really bad problem of biting and chewing everything... hands, feets, clothes, carpets, etc. How can I stop this? He doesn't seem to get telling him no.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

    How old is he?

When my puppy bites, I yelp and then sulk (turning away to "lick my wounds") for a few seconds.  This is what his littermates would have done.  Usually after a second or 2, he will lick my hand, by way of an apology.  If he doesn't, and bites again, I get up and leave the room for a second or 2.  After I am finished sulking, we go right back to playing again.  I am also using clicker training to teach him "let go", which works about 90% of the time so far.

Of course he doesn't respond to no.  He has no idea what the word means and it doesn't tell him what you WANT him to do.  Correct (no bite, unh uh) redirect by giving him a toy to chew on and then praise him for chewing on the toy.  If he persists, that's when I use the yelp and withdrawing attention. But another thing you'll want to do is to catch him doing something right.  When he's chewing on a toy and not you, PRAISE for that.  That's how he learns.  OK, chewing on this toy makes mom happy, chewing on her skin doesn't.
