I've recently been taking Roscoe to a center for rehabilitation/convalescing, etc. 'cause I am puppysitting a dog for a friend who has to be there a couple weeks. So I take her dog and Roscoe to visit once a day. Roscoe would make such an awesome visitation dog -- he's afraid of nothing. He willingly lets anyone who wants to cuddle him and skritch his ears, etc. Just walking down the hall, people say "Oh, there's the spotted dog!" So we go in and visit anyone who wants us to.
The only problem is that he WILL NOT keep his paws to himself. UGH!!!

I've got him to the point where he doesn't paw me or climb into my lap without permission, but with other people it's so hard to teach him not to! So when we're visiting with someone in a wheelchair, I'll correct him with an "eh-eh" or "Roscoe, off" if he goes to put a paw up, but sometimes the person is inadvertently encouraging the behavior, so I end up having to physically pull him off the person to avoid him scratching the skin.
Any tips for teaching him to keep his paws to himself? Also, a couple people actually wanted him in bed/wheelchair with them. Should I not let him 'til he learns that he can only do it when given permission?
Thanks! Eventually I want to actually take a class or something that teaches you this stuff, but that won't work for our visits right now.[
