    Dog Wont Stop Chasing Cat

I recently adopted a 2 year old Brussels Griffon and when they cat tested her, she was very uninterested in them, she was more interested in the people around her than the cats.

I have two cats. A 2 year old and a 5 year old. The 2 year old is insanely skiddish due to the fact she was dumped and ;put in the pound the first few days of her life but the 5 year old can pretty much hold her own. 'Chanel' (the dogs name) isn't interested in them, she likes to watch them, but when they take off running, she's gone & chasing them up and down the stairs, out in the garage, everywhere. If she can't get along with the cats, we have to take her back and I really don't want to do that because she's a wonderful dog.

Do you have any suggestions? Anything would be helpful.

We have a 14 year old cat, Kristy, who has grown up with dogs, but still doesn't like them at all. We got Loki at 8 weeks, so she trained him from the time he was a puppy and they get along fine. They even lay next to each other on the floor sometimes.

Two months ago, we adopted Odin. He was also cat tested and they found that he was interested, but not aggressive. We've pretty much found that to be the case since we've had him. He's never tried to hurt her. But his interest really upsets the cat, so they still can't be in the same room together. And the more we keep them seperated, the more frustrated Odin gets, because he wants to be her friend.

I've also been trying to figure out a good way to have them all get along. I feel bad, because Kristy never comes downstairs to be with us anymore. She's constantly hiding from Odin. I'm hoping that someday they will just get used to each other, but it's sure taking a long time.

I've done a lot of searching on the web and this is the most comprehensive article i've found so far:

My girlfriend and I are moving in together with her 4 cats and my high-prey drive dog so I'm going to have to get started with this pretty soon.  I know it will take time but hopefully  we can get to the point where they at least tolerate each other.

I'mnot sure but with Rory at my mom's house we have to put a baby gate up at teh foot of the stairs. She is the same way, she dosnt mind them but if they run its fair game. This way the cats can still jump over the baby gate but Rory cant. Then again that is just for our visits, its not 24/7. Sorry I couldnt be of better help
