    Now for my next trick...

Ok Blue has pretty much master saying his prayers except we are still working on getting to put his paws on other objects instead of wanting to put his paws on my hands and then bow his head.

So I'm in need of a new trick for him to learn. Any ideals on what I should teach Blue next and I need instructions on how to do it.

These are the tricks Blue knows:
Kisses ( gives you a kiss)
    Shake
    High Five
    Sit
    Down
    Speak
    Saying his prayers
Paws (puts both his paws in your hands)

How about teaching him to crawl on command? That's always a fun one to show off!!!

I taught my dog by first giving the down command and then taking a small treat and holding it just far enough in front of her nose that she had to stretch to reach it. Then I would hold it just far enough that she would have to move her weight forward to reach it, and I just gradually increased the distance until she was crawling. When she got to the point where I could put her on down stay and crouch a few feet in front of her and have her crawl to me, then I started slowly standing up until I could stand in front of her and have her crawl to me.

Why not teach him to weave in and out of your legs? (I just had a treat and both hands and lured him through my legs while saying "weave") or to spin? (just hold a treat in front of your dog's nose and spin it around him and he should follow it and then you can start saying "spin" after a bit) Or dead dog? (I got foster to lay down at first, then i sort of pushed him over a few times and clicked and gave him a treat, and then started saying "dead dog" while i was pushing him over, and he learned it really quickly! only took him 10 minutes cause he really wanted that turkey!)
    Good luck!

It's very easy to teach high five to a dog that already does "paw".
Just turn your hand facing up, and get theatrical.  Soon the dog will be happily high fiving you.  They just think of it as "put my paw in the human paw and I get a treat".  They don't care which way your hand faces.
From there, you can ask for "wave" by holding your hand up, but just far enough so the dog can't quite reach it.

How about teaching him to spell his name? Really, it's just touching the letters, and it shouldn't be hard to teach him since he will already lift his paws. I really mean to teach Max to do it no matter what order the letters are in, but right now he can just do it if they're in the proper order, although he could probably also do it if I switched the M and A. You could probably easily teach him to do it if the letters were in the correct order, and if you wanted to go for more, you could teach him to do it in any order.
Another cool looking trick, but not if your walls are painted, is to teach him to turn off the lights. If your walls are painted, don't do this, because it will scratch the paint.
Crawl like someone else suggested is also pretty cute and easy to teach. How about roll over, if he's willing to expose his belly?
Anne, I would have never thought of teaching it that way. I probably would have slowly turned my hand from the position for paw to High five. I bet your way gets it done a lot faster than mine.

Blue refuses to expose his belly I tried for over 2 months to try roll over lets just say we got no where on that. I get him to lay down and once I try to get him to roll over he gets up and wont come toward you for over a half hour. He freaks out and starts pacing back and forth.

I'm thinkg of crawling trick and I have started today with waving. He doesn't like waving that much he starts talking and I got to make sure he doesn't get to upset or he will say the bad word that he learned to say.[:D]

    Spelling his name sounds intresting...
