    Teething already???

Hi guys! Is it normal for a German Shorthaired Pointer to start losing baby teeth at 4 months?

Yes, teething usually begins around 3-4 months of age.  It can take up till the 8th or 9th month to have lost all teeth with all adults in.  Perfectly normal.

Yes, totally normal, make sure you have enough chew toys around, this can be a trying time.[;)]

Remember to supervise the dog when he isn't crated.  And, do this during the "second" chewing stage at around the age of 8-9 months as well, since you may lose your dining room table legs if you don't [:D].

Joy's about 6 months right now and she's got two semi-rotten puppy teeth infront of the adult teeth that grew in behind them, along with one other puppy tooth that isn't close to coming out.

Eros is 1 1/2 and still has a puppy tooth.

Knox lost all of his puppy teeth at around 3 months.

It varies from each dog, as you can tell[:D]

I'd be very concerned about any semi-rotten teeth on a 6 month old pup. I would think that whatever caused the decay in the baby teeth will probably continue in the adult teeth. Raw meaty bones would help. In the mean time you should have the baby teeth pulled. They will be crowding her mouth even more and will promote decay on the adult teeth next to them.
