    Bella...pooped in the house twice...

Ok, as you all know Bella is NOT housebroken STILL after 8 mos of trying, but its always pee and then today and Sat she pooped in the house! Today, was probably my fault. She never went after she ate yesterday although she had plenty of chances. So this a.m. I guess she really had to go and went in her crate...so I assumed she had doone it all! So we went out for pee and came back in and voila...more poo. Nice.
Last night she decided to just pee in front of me. I finally managed to be loud enough to startle her but it was too late she had gone quite a bit. SO annoyed with this. I mean geez...Beau who is 11 weeks old goes to the door to go outside...at 11 weeks for goodness sake.

Sorry, had to vent. but what the heck? She is right in front of me!

I don't think waiting for her to be startled out of it is going to do much...  When you catch her peeing, immediately scoop her up and run her outside.  Forget standing there trying to make the right amount of noise that makes her stop... it's not very effective.

I think it's Glenda who grabs a towel and scoops up the puppy... you could try that... it would mean less pee on your floor.  >^^;<

I agree, startling her won't teach her where to go.  Peanut had accidents too, but we told her "bad" and scooped her up and put her outside, told her 'OK, pee-pee."  By the 3rd time, she understood; she never went in her crate though.  Also, when we took for a scheduled pee brake, we reapeatedly told her "go pee-pee," when she started to pee, we whispered P-P-P-P-P-P, that taught her the command.  Now, she goes on command.
Draico, got the pee command down pretty quick, but not the poop.  On day he squatted to poop, SU caught him and sternly told him "no, bad boy, outside!"  He immediately opened the door and reapeated "outside," followed him and praised him as he finished outside.  That took care of the pooping in the house.
Both dogs whine to alert us they need to go outside.

butterfly, are you leashing Bella to your waist when you're inside?  I know you said you have a fairly small living room, but it's not just about how big your house is.
My pup is really making progress in the housebreaking department (knock on wood, but I've probably already jinxed it by saying that), but when he WAS having difficulties, he would always manage to squat when I wasn't friggen looking.  I don't know how he knew, but he was a little bugger that way!  I know with a small living room you think she can't get out of your site, but there's something about being leashed to your waist that will make her a little more aware.  If she literally has to squat ON YOUR LEG, she MIGHT think twice.  You're at your wit's end with this, so you might as well try it.  Can't hurt!
