What this one is about is the fact that casey has devolped a sevre attachemnt to me. She doesn't care about my husband or anyone else...just me. I can't exactly pinpoint what started it. They only thing I can think of is when someone was sneaking around the house suspiously (we're still figuring out what happened). My husband, Chris, was home and said Casey folled the persons every move and when they walked

ast a window would start bitting at them through the window. She went back home the following day and I got a phone call the next day after that saying Casey would not stop crying and refused to come in from the backyard. Since it was cold, I went over there and coaxed her inside and returned home. I could hear Casey having a tantrum and eventually they let her back in the backyard. I've done everything to not encourage this behavoir, but it continues. She was over there for two weeks and just returned (they called several times during that time, however). She even does this when I leave for work and my husband has to listen to it, though she does stop after a little bit...where as at her owern's she doesn't (according to them). She doesn't destroy the house while I'm gone (no one in the house) unless it's for an extended period of time. Even then the worse she does it tear up a few tissues. I don't blame little Casey since they are the perfect example of people who shouldn't own pets. She also appears to be very protective of my house and of me. She's alert to every sound and barks at anything out of place. I also now must go through a thourough sniffing every time I return home (which Lucy also did when we first got here though not as severe as Casey does) and attempts to stop it are ignored no matter what I do (except physical punishment which I refuse to ever do). When she came back last night and her owners came to the door to ask a question Casey was barking so fiersly I didn't know if it was safe for her to be near the door, or them so I took her upstairs. My husband jokingly said that was Casey's way of saying "You can't take me back!!"...though he may be right. She does not do this behavoir with anyone else. My husband could leave and she doesn't care...same goes for her owners. She's also very clingy...always in my lap or laying beside me. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it? Is this more or less Casey's way of saying i'm hers and she won't have it any other way? Sunny had severe seperation anxiety when we got him but his behavoir is completly different from Casey's. I titled this "mommy attachment syndrome" 'cause that's what my friend called Casey's behavoir.
