• mom growling at newborns -12 days old Debbie Mesquit Posted : 4/24/2007 7:26:21 PM My 3 yr old chihuahua had her first litter of 5 puppies 12 days ago,  she has been a real good mommy .  2 or 3 days ago she started growling at her puppies, and I think it is when she thinks they have had enough to eat.
