NY Times on Tail Wagging

This is an interesting article in the NY Times. Apparently dogs tend to wag their tails more towards their right side when they have positive feelings for someone; and more to the left when they have negative feelings. (It's more complicated than this but I am summarizing.)
Has anyone else noticed this kind of behavior in their dogs?
