    Very scared of weird things

My dog comes from a good breeder, atleast we thought. Well, I first had a German Shep male and he died under 2 years from having a tumor (which our vet knew about, but never told us (I had a friend working in that vet a couple of years later who got bored and looked up my old dog's fie) but unfort. the vet is long gone) and he also had a very bad infection on his butt. He would bleed all the time, it was very horrible and a bad time time in my life when he was sick. :(

But anyways, my sister also got a German Shep female from the same breeder. The two dogs are brother and sisters of eachother coming from the same father. They got along great, but only with eachother not any other dogs. So long after my dog passed away, my sister gave me her dog before she bit one of their friends in the face (which was weird because the dog was always good with people).

Now this dog, the female, has a bad history with being skidish. For example, if you want to use the George Forman Grill, you set it and a timer goes off when it is finished. Well as soon as you set that timer she gets really scared hiding under the desk or being a total clutz and running into things. We never could figure this out. But whats worse is she got bad with people. She turned into my old dog, and cat being around anyone except our family.

I don't really mind that, because she never really gets exposed to anyone else and when she does she just stays  on the other side of the house. But this skidish bit that she has been doing for so long is very weird, anyone have a take on this?

You answered your own question by saying that your dog hasn't been around people much.  You failed to socialize her and that's why she is not comfortable with people she doesn't know.

As far as the timer on the grill, I really don't know the why of it....but maybe give her a nice juicy raw meat bone to work on while you're using the grill and she'll begin to associate that noise with GOOD things.

Well her is the thing. The people issue was from her previous owners. She was around people all the time, and then literally snaped. I mean who knows how they treated her before I got her, but thats how she was. The reason they gave her up was because they just had a baby and were scared of what the dog might do. So once I got her, I may have contributed her to not likeing people more when she really did not get exposed to anyone else.

The timer on the grill is really 1 of a large group of things she gets very scared of. She can be sitting on my bed fine, and then the next moment she will look at the corner and act like she has just seen a ghost and be very very scared.
