Separation Anxiety

• Separation Anxiety peanutvoodoo Posted : 8/20/2006 12:28:40 AM Hello,   I need help with my dog Penelope, we got her from the shelter about a month now, and she has a bad case of separation anxiety anytime I leave the room, shell follow or when I leave to go upstairs shell howl like shes been hurt. Or soemtimes during the day shell wake me up when I am sleeping, ( I work at night)  And its not because she has to Eliminate, because I make sure she gets it all out before I go to bed. So any suggestions would be good, thank you. • Xebby Posted : 8/20/2006 12:59:10 AM This may help some but when your away try leaving the radieo on or the TV.  Something with noise so she doesn't feel too much alone.  For my dog I use anxiety drops that I put in her food, I get them from the vet.  They are mostly holistic, main ingredence camomill.  So you could even try camomill tea to calm her (drops are easyer for me).  Give her plenty of toys, the best are the ones that she can interact with like a kong stuffed with a treat or thoes ones that talk back when played with.  Hope that helps some, each dog is a little differnt so some things don't work as well as they do for others.  Give it time, it may not happen as quickly as you wish but eventuly she will learn, right now she feel like she needs you and is protected by you. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
