    Will they get on eventually?

Hi! as a few of you know I have a doberman who's nearly two (Rascoe) For several reasons he did not get the proper socialisation when he was a pup. I'm now trying to introduce him to a friends 'calmer' labrador of a similar age (Buster). They met for the first time last night and I fear If my dobe was not wearing a muzzle it could of got nasty. He was incredibly jealouse of anyone giving the other dog attention and would bark and whine and lunge at him regularly.

The other dog snapped back at him eventually, to ward him off, but I had to keep my boy on a lead the whole time.
When he'd bark i'd tell him 'no' and when he was calm and quiet i'd give him fuss.

This was a very stressfull time for me and my dog. Has anyone got any tips for these situations? As I dont want my boy to be anti-sociable towards other dogs for the rest of his days, lol

We should be having my friends lab over as often as possible to try and get them together but I'm also afraid I'll never be able to take Rascoe's muzzle off!! Help anyone? Any advice? Thanks all! x x [>:]

Where did this contact/meeting take place?  If it was at your home/yard area then of course your guy was a bit defensive/aggressive.  Introduce dogs at a neutral territory, have them meet down the street and walk to your home together.  It's less threatening to your guy, especially if your dobie hasn't had much socialization.  Keep the muzzle on though, and keep working with him.  Only time will tell.
