    how do you train a dog to give a signal when he needs to go outside to potty.  emma already knows how to do this but jake will just potty near the front door.  no warning, no signal, nothing.  hes had three accidents since ive had him (almost 2 weeks)  he must know hes supposed to potty outside because he doesnt go around marking in the house all the time they way he does when hes outside.  im really happy about the fact that he only does it by the door where there is linoleum.  but i would rather he let me know so i can take him outside!

    have you tried bell training? we bought jingle bells and attached them to a ribbon and nailed them on the wall by the back door. everytime you let him out, use his paw to nudge the bells and then praise him. eventually, he should catch on.

    i have another problem.  he wont poop outside in our neighborhood.  he will hold it in for two days and then poop on the floor in the middle of the night.  he absolutely will not poop around where we live but if i take him to the park he poops away!  doesnt matter what park.  any park he poops withing 5 minutes and then a second time within a couple minutes of that.  why wont he poop in the neighborhood??  weird!
