    DIGGING UP HOUSE PLANTS!!

We just got a boxer dog that is already 13 months old.  She did really well the first two weeks we had her in the apartment.  She played with her toys and chewed her bones.  Then this week she decided to chew my husbands palm tree leaves.  I caught her doing that and she stopped.  Now I have a new problem.  She DIGGS UP the same palm tree!!  I can't catch her doing it to tell her its bad.  She's not burrying anything.  All she does is make a mess all around the living room!  Any suggestions?  (P.S I read some of the other posts about digging, and I don't think I want poop in the house plants. [:D])

LOL Bailey does this exact same thing... we have a big leafy thing and it looks like a huge catipillar got to it, lol.  And the living room looks like someone threw dirt all over after shes gotten to it.  I just say keep and eye on her and try to be around her all the time to monitor what shes doing and slowly but surely she learn thats not for her.  Make sure to give her one of her toys when you tell her not to chew the plant.

Back in the archives somewhere there are pictures of some pretty creative things  that people did to keep their dog away from the Christmas tree.  If you have a pretty good sized plant, maybe some of these ideas could work for you.  Good luck!

I use Cayenne pepper to keep my dogs from digging.  Put the pepper on the dirt and when she starts to dig she'll get a nose-full of pepper and a it kept mine out of things after that.  You have to use a lot, basically put enough on the dirt to make it nice and red.
