Recommended Books. Have you read them?

I've read everything McConnell has written.  She's one of my favorites.  I've slogged through Genetics and the Social Behavior of Dogs.  It's good and when it was written it was ground breaking stuff.

Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson is a good one and probably the book I recommend most often.

Another is Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor.  Another ground breaking book that I think every dog owner should read.  

Dr. Sophia Yin has a great book called How to Behave so Your Dog Behaves.  Great book.

I could go on but those are some of my favorites.  I'm a big reader and books on dogs and dog behavior are my favorite reading material.

Excellent! Thank you for the recommendations. Pryor was in there she inspired me to clicker train. Must be sure to get that book!! And others.

Read the first chapter of genetics and social behavior. Kind of excited now that the chapter explained what they did to conduct the experiment . Eager to see what happened! It's the first book that showed up so far.

I'm such a book worm too. I am realizing psychology really interests me (most medical things do I think it's bc of my background) but add that to the love of my dog I'm really taking an interest to understand them better as a species to develop a great relationship with them.
