    Retractable Tie Out

     Does anyone have experience using Doctors Foster and Smith's retractable tie out?  This would be perfect for our little Lizzy-she loves to be outside.

    I don't like retractable anythings.  JMHO

    Ditto! Too many unknowns could happen. Why not a regular tie out?

    Ditto, and I never leave dogs tied outside alone.  Ties don't stop thieves or coyotes any more than e-fences do.  There's a way to fence a dog in inexpensively - use deer fencing.

    Well, I use an agri-fence and have a dog on a tie-out INside the fence.

    I've never heard of a re-tractable tie-out.  If it worked perfectly I could definitely see the benefits.  However I watched the product video and it would not be something I would try.  For one, the stake it comes on is a joke.  Two, I don't like how elevated it is.  Three, because of how elevated it is and there not being any slack, it would constantly clothesline my other dogs.  Right now they are all used to Coke's tie-out and it never trips or tangles them.
