Dog scaling walls & gates at our daycare, help!

Usually in circumstances like this, where we have a dog that jumps our gates/daycare walls we reccommend the owner take her pup somewhere else.  However, this is a very very special client that we do not want to do that with (plus we love her dogs!)

She is a fairly small dog but completely agile. When we load doggy daycare, she is usually fine for the first 30 minutes.  But after that (or when she gets bored) she'll trot over to the gate and with one leap, shes out.  Our daycares are fully staffed but sometimes the employees are not fast enough to run across the room and save her.  My concern is that she will run out the front door the same time a customer walks in.

We've tried clicker training, switching daycare rooms (we have a big dog room & small dog room) and even just leashing her up for the day.  We hate leashing her up because it poses as a risk in case of a dog fight.

This is a tough problem, I know.  But I am open for to any suggestions (even some kind of unique guardrails/curtains on top of our daycare walls).

    thanks!

Google "coyote roller fence".  One of our members posted about this fence and it looked like it might be very effective.

How tall are your fences? Our daycare facilities here all have 9' fences even inside the facility. And they are double gated, as in one gate to get you into a walkway that is completly fenced, where you leash up the dog and another gate to get you to the front office where the client picks up and drops off the dog. Much like you would see in a dog park.

I think you are opening yourself up to some real problems if you don't get this fixed asap or that you don't fully disclose the issue to the client so they can decide if they wish to take the risk. When I drop my dogs off someplace I trust they will be 100% safe. I have had a vets office lose a dog and the dog was never recovered. It was devastating. Since word of mouth is so important to businesses like this, I spread the word about this lost dog when ever I can. I doubt you would want the bad press if a dog gets lost and possibly killed.

or that you don't fully disclose the issue to the client so they can decide if they wish to take the risk.

Agree.  I don't know about the fences you could use but as a dog mom I'd want to know this was going on.  And, quite honestly, it makes me question you that you wouldn't let her know.  I've done pet sitting so I'm assuming, "special client" means the dog is there very often and you are making good money on the client-more reason to let them know whats happening.

When you take a look at the coyote roller, understand that you can also build your own, rather inexpensively, using a sturdy thick dowel and some PVC pipe!
